Our inventory is selected with creativity, quality, and usefulness in mind — from beginner-friendly basics to fun treasures you didn’t know you needed.
Classes, Events & Learning
What kind of classes and events do you offer?
We offer in-store classes and creative events for a range of ages and skill levels. Our offerings may include beginner sewing, quilting, youth programs, machine education, workshops, community events, and specialty creative experiences.
Classes are designed to be welcoming, hands-on, and supportive — whether you’re learning something new or building on skills you already have.
Do I need experience to take a class?
Not always. Some classes are beginner-friendly, while others require certain skills or prior sewing experience. Each class listing will include important details such as skill level, age guidance, supply needs, and project expectations.
If you’re unsure where to start, contact us and we’ll help you choose the best fit.
Do you provide machines?
For many classes, students may use classroom machines when available. Some classes may require or allow students to bring their own machine depending on the project and class type.
Please review the class description carefully before registering. If you’re not sure what applies to your class, reach out before class day.
Can kids take classes?
Yes. We love helping young makers build creative confidence. Youth class availability, age requirements, and project details vary by class or program.
Please check each class listing for age guidance and registration details.
Shopping, Purchases & Policies
What is your retail purchase policy?
All retail purchases are considered final sale unless otherwise noted. Due to the nature of our products — including cut fabric, notions, and specialty materials — we are unable to accept returns or exchanges on most items.
For non-cut items, returns or exchanges may be considered on a case-by-case basis if:
- The item is unused and in original condition.
- The item is returned within 7 days of purchase.
- A valid receipt is provided.
Are sewing machines, special orders, or clearance items returnable?
Sewing machines, special orders, and clearance items are final sale and are not eligible for return or exchange.
If you have questions about a product before purchasing, our team is happy to help you make the best selection.
What is your class cancellation and no-show policy?
We understand that plans can change. Our class policies are designed to be fair to students, instructors, guest educators, and the shop while accounting for materials, preparation, staffing, travel, and limited class seating.
- All class, workshop, camp, retreat, private lesson, and event registrations are non-refundable.
- Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing by email to hello@thesewcialbox.com.
- If cancellation is requested at least 7 days prior to the class or event start date, a store credit may be issued.
- Store credit approval is determined at the discretion of The Sewcial Box and may vary depending on class type, instructor agreements, specialty materials, travel arrangements, guest instructors, and event structure.
- Store credits are valid for 9 months from the issue date and may only be applied toward future classes, workshops, camps, or events at The Sewcial Box.
- Store credits may not be redeemed for cash and may not be applied toward retail purchases unless otherwise specified.
- Cancellations made less than 7 days before the class or event start date are not eligible for store credit, transfer, refund, rescheduling, or makeup sessions.
- No-shows are not eligible for refunds, store credit, transfers, makeup sessions, or rescheduling.
- Certain workshops may require instructor approval of designs, patterns, or project selections to ensure projects are achievable within the scheduled class format and timeframe.
- Specialty workshops, guest instructor events, retreats, machine events, camps, and multi-day programs may carry separate cancellation policies, supply fees, minimum enrollment requirements, or travel-related terms listed directly within the registration description.
