BEGLA102 - Beginner Longarming II: Free Motion + Rulerwork
Ready to build on your longarming foundation?
Beginner Longarming II: Free Motion + Rulerwork is designed for beginning longarm quilters who have completed our Intro to Longarming class and are ready to spend more time developing the quilting itself.
In BEGLA101, basic free-motion movements are introduced to help you become comfortable controlling and moving the longarm. In this next class, we’ll build on that foundation and begin turning those movements into more intentional quilting designs.
During this private, hands-on class, you’ll explore:
- Foundational free-motion quilting designs and design variations
- Consistency, spacing, scale, and repetition
- Traveling, echoing, and connecting quilting designs
- Drawing and planning quilting pathways before stitching
- Beginner longarm rulerwork and proper ruler positioning
- Straight-line and point-to-point quilting
- Simple curves and echoed rulerwork
- Combining rulerwork with free-motion quilting
- Beginning to think about what to quilt where
This is still a beginner-level class—no previous rulerwork experience is required! Instruction is private and one-on-one, allowing plenty of hands-on machine time, guided practice, and individualized instruction.
You’ll work through a structured longarm quilting sampler during class that you can take home for continued reference and practice.
Tuition is $225.
Class duration is 5 hours and includes lunch.
Machine use, thread, practice materials, classroom rulers and tools, and instructional materials are included.
Prerequisite: Completion of BEGLA101 - Intro to Longarming, or instructor approval.
